Biography
Danny Kent is best known for his Moto3 World Championship victory, celebrating in 2015 when he lifted the MotoGP support class crown. The feat meant that he became Great Britain's first Grand Prix solo motorcycle world champion since Barry Sheene in 1977.
Kent began his career in Minimoto before progressing into the Superteen class before he was selected for the Red Bull MotoGP Academy, competing in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he finished runner-up in 2010.
Kent then continued his career in both the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships the following seasons, before his championship victory in 2015, which saw him promoted to the Moto2 class.
He first made his debut in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in 2018 at Brands Hatch, competing in a handful of races.
Then in 2020 he competed in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, finishing the season in sixth place in the overall standings.
Kent signed for the Buildbase Suzuki team in 2021 and remained in the official Suzuki Superbike squad in 2022. He returned in 2023 with his own Team and was back on the podium, before their season ended prematurely.
Kent will line up for Mar-Train Yamaha in the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Two-time British Supersport champions, Mar-Train Racing stepped up to the Superbike class for the first time in 2023 with direct support from Raceways Motorcycles and the McAMS Yamaha team, regularly fighting for the top six positions in an impressive debut season.
